YARN SET FOR “LES ROCHES” by Gretha Mensen

The very new pattern from Gretha !
Set for the Tess and Suri version available on a pre-order ( ready to ship within about 3 weeks).
Imagined by the talented Dutch designer Gretha Mensen, “LES ROCHES” is an almost-triangular that artfully intermixes delicate lacy cables with bolded ones. Intricate but easy to knit, the shawl’s wide patterned band alludes to the rocks of the Normandy coast, with the rosy light of early morning illuminating grey stones and pebbles rounded by sea waves.
Gretha chose the DK organic merino yarn AURORE hand dyed in the color Poudre to create her sample (3 skeins). This organic and soft wool provides excellent stitch definition and divinely met by highlighting the cables.
While testing the pattern, I chose an ultra soft yarn duo for a light and airy shawl easy to wear in all circumstances whatever the season. TESS and SURI have been hand dyed in the Céladon shade.

The set here proposed in merino silk and Suri Baby Alpaca/silk version contains:
- 1 skein of TESS + 1 mini skein of 20 grs (offered) : 80% non-superwash merino / 20% silk (600m-100grs) or 720 m in total.
- 2 skeins of SURI: 74% Suri Baby Alpaca – 26% Mulberry Silk (300m – 50 grs) – no superwash or 600m (new base exclusive for Gretha’s shawl)
- Available in 6 colors: Celadon, Poudre, Caffe Latte, Smoke, Afternoon Tea, Cèdre Bleu.
Note: Gretha’s shawl is adaptable. The set contains the quantity of yarn necessary for the original version (size: approx. 195 x 70 cms).
